When Phillip encounters a challenge, he dedicates himself toward the solution. After adopting a Cattle Dog named Gamma that felt impossible to get control of, Philip decided the best solution was to tackle the problem himself. He dove into every possible resource to help Gamma’s behavioral issues, including a new career as a dog trainer. After rehabilitating Gamma, and taking on a now formerly aggressive Malinois named Sarge, Phillip has become adept at socialization, encouraging friendly behaviors between dogs in a safe low-stakes environment.

Roxy’s first job was at a rescue where she cared for the well-being of adoptable dogs. As the animals main source of human interaction, she grew attached to every single one, learning their stories, their behaviors, and their personalities. She became invested in each dog, working with them to help get past any fear of strangers so they could find their forever homes. Through that experience, Roxy found her calling as a trainer. While she hasn’t adopted any dogs of her own, her dreams of rescuing a Corgi and English Bulldog are inevitable. Roxy’s attention to detail and unwavering commitment toward the comfort of our guests helps nervous dogs adjust more quickly, making training more effective, and their stay as enjoyable as possible.

While working at a local pet store, Jon had the opportunity to accompany a friend to a Bite Sport club meetup. After seeing the dogs work and even getting in a bite suit on his first day, the excitement he felt, coupled with his enthusiasm to learn, led him toward a career in dog training. Now as one of our trainers, Jon specializes in encouraging working dogs’ drive, helping some of our more fearful or less confident guests reach their potential. Jon still regularly takes part in Bite Sports with his Doberman/Malinois mix Prince, and is currently working toward acquiring a title in Mondioring, a globally practiced protection sport.

When Marissa was a child, her Grandpa gave her a very special gift, an encyclopedia of dogs. Where most kids would want toys or even money, Marissa was ecstatic about the textbook. Armed with the knowledge she gained from her new present, Marissa took it upon herself to start a daycare and walking service for neighborhood pets. Today, she regularly uses the knowledge she acquired years ago, along with the experience amassed since then, to provide the best possible training for every breed that comes through our kennels. Currently, Marissa is training her Pitbull Modie to be a service animal and hopes to one day have him compete in sports.
